Software Developers Eat Family Style

I work at Tilt. Part of my work is to build tools for the growth team. One such tool is called Pisa.

Pisa is an important piece of software that allows us to build on-brand landing pages, track attribution, track ambassador applications, track long tail seo keywords and more. Pisa did not take a long time to build. To understand why you need to look at this screenshot:

This is a list of all the open source “gems” that other people (not me) wrote so that I (me) could get my work done faster.

Thousands of people that I have never met are helping me, help my team.

This ladies and gentlemen is why software is eating the world. Because software developers are generous and eat family style. I am talking big ol’ plates on the table for everyone to share.

I am truly grateful and humbled to be a part of this global community and can only hope that someone will stand on top of my shoulders and see a little further.
